Lily's Mischief Small Rodent Rescue & Sanctuary

Lily's Mischief was started because of our devotion to our beloved rat Lily.
She developed a mass on her mammary gland and needed surgery. We needed a vet that could be trusted and had experience with rodents and through our friends at The
Travelin' Rat we were able to save Lily.

Lily pulled through her surgery fine and through this experience we became a foster home for rats. We then became a sanctuary for abandoned, abused, and neglected rats
as well as rats who have behavioral issues or are in hospice care.
We do not adopt rats out and are currently not taking any rodents in.

All sales from our etsy site go to provide supplies for the critters in our care.

We are a rat sanctuary that gives abandoned, abused and neglected rats a second chance. We also work with hospice cases as well as behavioral issues.

Meet the rodents of Lily's Mischief
Lily, our original rescue. Saved from being
snake food and the official mascot of LM.
RIP Sweet Lily.
Tilda is one of our most special cases. She arrived
here from a terrible neglect situation, covered in
parasites and other nasty stuff. She had been suffering
from an ear infection that was never treated properly
and has a permanent tilt. She is also deaf and has
arthritis in her back legs from being fed a poor diet. She
also had a tumor removed.
Tilda passed away on June 12, 2017. R.I.P. little one.
Indiana was from a horrible abuse
situation. He was flung about by his tail, his
brothers were poisoned and he was left in a
snake tank on several occasions. This poor
guy has some anxiety issues and will remain
with us for life
.
Moriarity, Watson & Sherlock, a
patchwork, hairless dumbo and dumbo rat.
Mori & Watson are brothers, Sherlock was
from and abandonment case. All loving boys.
Edward is our fluffy double rex box. He and
his brother Bane were adopted from the
SPCA
.
Boogens is one of our alpha males. He was
surrendered because his former human had him in a
loud environment with dogs and he lashed out.
Boogens now enjoys peace and quiet and lots of pasta.
Miss Ouiser is another one of our
hairless rats. She has some health issues
and will be staying with us for life.
Harvey & OZ
Harvey is an odd eyed high white rat. He
came here with his brother who only has
one working lung and was not expected to
live more than a few days. Oz surprised us
all and is going on 6 months!
Athena & Circe
Rescues from the SPCA hoarding incident.
Penny, Amy & Bernadette
Three beautiful PEWs from the West Side Highway
rescue.
Selina Kyle
Selina is a little piranha and also very shy.
Bianca
Bianca was tossed out like trash by her
former owner where their snake wouldn't
eat her. She was terrified when she first
came in and wanted nothing to do with
humans. After a bit of TLC, Bianca is a very
sweet rat.
Minnie Meece
MM is a member of Momma's mischief. She is
a little shy at first but loves treats and playing
with the other girls.
Momma Stitch
Momma is the matriarch of one of our larger mischiefs.
She is a very laid back yet inquisitive girl who watches
over her girls.
Pavarti
P was given to us by Empy Cage Collectives
in NY. She was from a neglect situation and
had recently had a litter of 15. She was
deemed aggressive but has since settled
down and moved in with her new BFF Stoli.
Orca and Elle
Orca & Elle were rescues from a local pet
store who called because these guys were
total 'biters'. It turns out Orca is blind & deaf
and was just defending herself. They are
both sweethearts.
Gogo
Gogo is a permanent resident here. She was
from a local SPCA and was deemed an
aggressive rat. She's calmed down
considerably and can be handled now but it's
in her best interest not to be moved around
again. She lives with her roommate, Oren
who does not like people at all.
Loki
Loki is part of a smaller mischief with his brothers Ben
and Bartleby. They were from an oops litter courtesy of
a local SPCA.
Ben, our gentle giant at 1,000 grams and
over 18" long is the sweet brother to Loki &
Bartleby
Bartleby
Loki's brother and our very first Siamese rat.
Stoli
Stoli was surrendered by her former mom
because she was a biter and was aggressive
to another rat. Since being here, Stoli has
proved herself to be a big puddle of love and
has taken on a new roommate, Pavarti.
Cain
Rescued by Danielle from The Travelin' Rat from an
incident in Pittston, PA. Cain was deemed an aggressive
rat. He will live out the rest of his life in our sanctuary.
Cain does not like to be touched but loves to play with
his ducky toy.
Callie & Tilda
Ruth, Idgie & Sipsey
River Song
River is our resident chinchilla. She loves
her dust baths and jumping all over the place.
Elsa
Elsa is one of our resident pigs. On occasion we do take
in pigs.
Ethel
Ethel is our skinny pig. She is a bit
developmentally delayed.
Eve
Eve was abandoned in a park and left to
fend for herself. She now lives in a giant pig
pen with the other girls.
